Vashti

Vashti means "beauty and goodness." In the Book of Esther, she was a Persian Queen, wife of King Ahasuerus who commanded her to appear before him and his drunken guests to display her beautiful face and figure. In the Eastern culture of the time, this was a gross insult, since women were secluded from stranger's eyes. She refused to be objectified and did not comply with his drunken demand.
